2nd Central Ontario Regt attached to the Royal Flying Corps.

Circumstances of casualty:
"In company with another officer, he started his flight about 9:30am on Oct 31st 1917. When north of La Bassee, the machine was seen to be shot down in flames, during a combat, and when about 1500 feet from the ground the flames appeared to be extinguished but no information has since been received concerning Lieutenant Crowther"

He was subsequently declared missing, then for official purposes presumed killed in action.
